I’m a transplanted Texan. You can hear it when I say “barbeque” but a long stint in the choral arts caused me to leave the rest of my twang in Texas. My wife says she married me because I’m driven, and I love her because she accepts me for who I am. We have two teenage daughters and a Chihuahua mix named Jack that we adopted from the Greenhill Humane Society. When it’s snowing, I like to go snowshoeing up in the mountains. When it’s sunny, I love to hit the lake with my stand up paddleboard. The rest of the time, I’m either teaching my kids something or teaching myself something (reading).

I am originally from Illinois, where I earned my accounting degree, met my husband, and began my career. After taking bookkeeping in high school, I knew I would become an accountant. I enjoy my work - organizing information and analyzing the complex issues clients sometimes face. I deeply value my experience at major firms, and now, as an Alliance Partner to Physician Family, I enjoy using that knowledge to work directly with clients to solve complex problems and help them reach their financial goals. In my free time I enjoy cycling, yoga and reading, and my husband and I are fans of college sports.

Even though I’ve mostly lived in Atlanta, I’m an Oregonian at heart. After two decades working for Delta and trying my hand at running my own financial planning practice, I spent seven years in Eugene at an investment management firm. My wife Leslie and I fell in love with the food, scenery, people and yes, even the weather, of the Pacific Northwest. To be closer to siblings, elderly parents, & our daughter Emily, we returned to Atlanta, where we live now, and where I work virtually for Physician Family. Leslie and I enjoy jazz, good food and cooking, and entertaining at our home. When not working or cooking, we are on our bicycles along the many trails throughout the city or hiking in the nearby mountains.

Personal & Family

I’m a native Oregonian, born and raised in Cave Junction near the Oregon Caves National Park. You could say I’m a little bit country. I like country music, I know my way around hunting rifles, and I love to head out to the Cascades and get away from it all. My wife grew up in rural Idaho, so she’s a little bit country, too. We met on a blind date. In 2016, we became proud parents of a little girl named Graysen. We also have a couple of Chihuahuas who are slowly adjusting to the new family member. My last name is pronounced “Helsley” and my dad named me after Sergeant Kyle Reese who goes back in time to save the humans in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Terminator.

PErsonal & Family

Eugene is my hometown so naturally, I went to the U of O. Through a mutual friend, I met my wife Brittney, who studied Psychology across the street at Northwest Christian College. We married on New Year's Eve of 2015 and our son Matteo was born in 2018.

I met Ben in 2015 when a friend told me about a job opening at Physician Family. Kyle landed the job before I could contact Ben but we remained in touch during the years and Ben became a mentor to me. I love helping people get out of debt and get on with life, so I jumped at the chance to move out of the corporate world and into making a difference for individuals. Or as Red said in the Shawshank Redemption I had to “get busy livin’, or get busy dyin’.” When you get to know me, you will learn I have a movie quote for everything.

PErsonal & Family

I was born and raised in Somerset, a small town in Southeastern Kentucky. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a minor in Finance, and a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of college that I found my passion in finance and helping others achieve their financial goals. I was able to put this passion to work in the WKU Center for Financial Success where I helped students with budgeting, student loans, and credit. I always love learning and exploring new places. In my spare time, you can find me cooking, playing volleyball (but I’m up for trying any sport at least once), swinging a hammer on a Habitat for Humanity worksite, or showing anyone that I can pictures of my two very cute nephews.

I'm a native Oregonian, born and raised somewhere in Lane County. As a pup, my mama taught me to respect humanity and never take no for an answer. Being raised in a middle class pack, we had to make the best of every kibble, so thrift is one of my core values. In fact, my mama named me Jack in honor of the late great Jack Bogle, father of the modern index fund and founder of the Vanguard Group.

Growing up at Greenhill, I never knew my daddy but I think he was a schipperke and he must have been a champion squirrel chaser because the instinct runs deep in my veins. I love to hear them chatter and watch the fur fly when they go zipping up the nearest tree!

Joining Physician Family has changed my life. Even though I'm kind of a mutt, the team must have seen something special in me because they picked me up right away. At first the work was ruff but I combined my squirrel chasing talents with what I learned in the Certified Cat Herder program make scheduling easy for our clients. The best part of my job is the satisfaction of knowing the families we serve will have the same close relationship and access to our team that I do.

When I'm not on the job, you can find me singing in the kitchen and dancing around on my hind legs, especially at Sunday breakfast when Ben makes crepes for me and my new family.
